An Ethical Business Model

Donald Bradman (1908-2001) is possibly the greatest of all the great Australian sporting heroes. He was a giant in the game of cricket. Regarded by most as the greatest batsman of all time. He played to win. And he won. He played hard. And his competition feared him. He played with utter and complete ethics and integrity. Always. That is why he was loved.

Can business be played to win, to beat the competition, to grow, to maximise sales and profits, and with ethics and integrity?

Yes. It can. The Ethical Business Model guides boards and management about how to understand and define the ethical standards which apply to their business, and how to ensure that those ethical standards are lived and applied. Always.

The Ethical Business Model

The Ethical Business Model is a framework developed by Keith Budge for helping organisations understand the boundaries of their business. It allows organisations to define their ethical standards. What the ethical expectations of all of the stakeholders in the business including shareholders and the wider community. Understand the "grey areas" where business actions may be legal, but are they ethical?

The Ethical Business Model does not define ethics or answer the question of what is or it not ethical. But it gives boards, management and others a tool for evaluating these issues and defining expectations and boundaries so they are well understood by everyone.
